I am writing now to inform you of 88 new opportunities for independent living in East New York. I am hoping to spread the word amongst your membership for anyone looking for a new independent living opportunity for people with I/DD. The building, called Alafia, is located at 875 Erskine Ave. in Brooklyn right behind the Gateway Plaza. The apartments are brand new. We are working with OPWDD to get the word out and I am hoping you can distribute the attached flyer. The building will be opened in late December and ready for move in by January 2025. We will be able to tours starting in December. Can you please forward this to your membership to inform them of this exciting opportunity. I am happy to come and talk to the members if desired or fully available for questions and to work together to get approvals for Housing Subsidy, tax credit and ultimately new studio and one bedroom apartments.
