Membership

Membership Types:

  1. Individual Membership: Membership is free and shall be open to all persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities living or working in Brooklyn.  Individual Membership is open to the family members, advocates, professionals, and others persons who are interested in the needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
    • There is no need to register or sign-up for individual membership other than joining our mailing list and attending our meetings, committees and events!
  2. Provider/Agency Membership:  Provider agencies serving individuals with developmental disabilities in the Borough of Brooklyn shall be charged annual dues at a rate of $150 for Non-Profit organizations, and $200 for For-Profit organizations; determined by the Executive Board.
    • If you are interested in becoming a member of the Brooklyn Developmental Disabilities Council, please email brothenstein@hhcsny.org with the subject “BKDDC Membership”.
    • Membership dues help support the council by maintaining the website, Zoom, and events throughout the year such as the Family Support Fair and the Legislative Town Hall.
      • All agency’s who are paying members in good standing will receive:
        • Link agency name and website on our website
        • Member discounts for BKDDC events (i.e. Family Support Fair)
        • Voting rights on BKDDC officers during elections
          • Paid member agencies receive one (1) vote per agency
          • Agency must have participated in at least 3 meetings between September and June of the current council year
        • Choice of various committees to attend
