    October 27, 2025

Please see this link from the DOE on the potential School Bus Strike:

    From the DOE:

We know many families rely on yellow bus services, and we understand how challenging a disruption can be. We are doing everything we can to avoid this disruption, but we are also preparing to support our students and families if one occurs.

Thank you for your partnership and patience. We’ll continue to keep you informed and support you every step of the way.

    • OMNY Cards — Available for both the student and one caregiver of stop-to-school and curb-to-school students.
      • Student OMNY cards will be available at the school.
      • Parent Contingency Cards will be available at the school for parents to use while accompanying their children to school on public transportation.
    • Pre-Paid Rideshare — Available for Students with Disabilities who have transportation recommended on an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Accommodation Plan (504); Students in Temporary Housing or Foster Care who receive yellow bus service; and students with an approved transportation exception as defined on our exceptions to transportation eligibility web page(Open external link).
    • Reimburse families for travel — We will reimburse some families for some of the cost of bringing their child to school. Reimbursement is available for Students with Disabilities who have transportation recommended on an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Accommodation Plan (504); Students in Temporary Housing or Foster Care who receive yellow bus service; and students with an approved transportation exception as defined on our (Open external link)transportation overview web page(Open external link). Please submit a ticket through the Support Hub(Open external link) for consideration for reimbursement.
